New to detecting-first finds

Just got my first detector, a Fisher F2. I took it for a trial run today on a lot where the first house was built during the 18th century.

Not much in the way of finds but I did end up with an old Eagle padlock and a brass ring of some sort.

If anybody can id the brass ring or can give me an idea of the age of th he lock I would greatly appreciate it. HH
