Hi all! I recently made a purchase of a used vaq for $360. I was so worried what shape it would be in and if I would even like it at all. Man, I studied long and hard at what to get cause I knew my bh's just were leaving me with a feeling that I was not getting what I should outta the ground.

See the thing is today was my first day out with my new vaq. Of course I goofed around with it the night before. Today I got out and pretended I actually knew how to gb it. Ive watched all the vids and looked here way before my purchase. But it was picking up signals that came in loud and clear. I really like the tones it gives. Not the annoying eer err errr my bh gave off.

My first dig was an experience. The hole was at least 8 inches deep. From what I have read here I was like... Ok It's deep....Then at about a foot deep I found an old safety pin. I'm hooked on the deepness of this machine. Even if I didn't have it gb'd right it is a killer at depth.

I don't know if you can relate. But, I detected around my yard and I found stuff my other tectors missed. I guess what has me stoked is all the stuff I had missed with my 505. My 1st best dig was a penny pocket spill. 2 '64's n a '67. Not old but missed by about a million times by my bh.

Here is where it gets good. On my wish list is anything guns. Later in the evening I found a gun butt plate. I also found another piece that looks gun related. I know there has to be more cause it seems to be a trash pit I found. Gotta be a barrel in there. Then it was getting dark and the bugs r bad here at night. I don't have a camera yet but I'll borrow one soon.

Tesoro rocks :headbang:

I agree they can go deep. After deep soaking rains I have gotten the halos off iron and dug almost 2 feet after old metal. Learn the broken chatter but some big iron is to hard to resist on the signal. Have fun and happy hunting.

Welcome to the club Deftone. Happy hunting! - Terry

They are great detectors, congrats :icon_thumright:

"VAQUERO'S STINK!"

I hunted out my old yard with my cibola and found tons of stuff. I then bought a vaquero not thinking that their would be much left and it was like a virgin yard again. Ground balance is nice to have in tough soil.

Welcome to the Tesoro family I started out in my younger years got into other machines thinking they were better boy was I wrong now to sell off the other machine and be faithful like I should have to tesoro..lol HH everyone

Tesoro gets the job done without all the bells and whistles and I like that. I'm not one who likes spending 30 minutes setting up my detector when I get to a site.
The only problem with owning your first Tesoro is you are going to want more of them.....not that it is a problem, but it can get you in trouble with the better half....lol
Enjoy your Tesoro..... you made a great choice.

Roger
