Hi All,

I am new to MD'ing in the Central Ma. area. I have been digging up my yard like crazy and we have found quite a few relics of a farm that once was on this property. I am so excited to really start getting out there checking other places when my new MD arrives tomorrow. It was great to find a site like this with active members so close to me. I can't wait to get out on one of your group hunts (once I get better at the hobby that is ;D) I am going to try to post some pics of my first finds, we have a few square nails, old door hardware w/ wood still attached, 3 pennies, more than a few soda and beer cans and stuff we just can't figure out. Hoping to get some insight as to if it is stuff I should put in a MD garden or clean it up to display.? Any and all replies and ideas are greatly appreciated. I had my kids out there last weekend digging with me and our dog too. She seemed to love the idea that for once mommy wasn't yelling at her to stop digging up the yard. Now if we can only teach her to leave the filled in holes alone ::)... or is it that she is telling me to recheck them with my new detector this weekend??? Well thanks for reading this and again I am so glad to be here.

Well it appears I am going to have to play with my file sizes so pics will be forthcoming. Sorry!!!

Welcome to TNet AllMtl,

I am in Leominster also. I started earlier this year and have had some success. There are a few others in town or nearby that I am aware of. Always look forward to detect with others.

You'll find everything you need to know here, and then some. There are some awesome people with lots of different backgrounds to help you with this hobby.

Again, welcome and best of luck on the finds.

Welcome Girl! I'm quite a distance away, but Mass is full of history and you will have a ball. Never knw whats going to pop out of the ground around here.

Your pictures...................right click on the picture, go to open with, select paint. You will see the picture is way bigger than your screen, go to the top tool bar under image, hit stretch skew, a box will pop up, change the top two boxes from 100% to 25%, the image should appear in the screen now, go to file and save. You should now be able to post your pictures. Good luck!

Keep digging, we look forward to seeing your pictures!

On the subject of pictures, I like to upload my pictures to Photobucket and then link small thumbnails in my posts. Then if you click on them you can see the "big picture".

Hey all,

Thanks for the warm welcome. If anyone has any good tips on where to go and not get in trouble I would be mighty obliged. I did post the pics in another thread yesterday. However I got some more stuff last night to upload still. I am off to hunt the yard again wish me luck.
