Detector(s) used
Equinox 800 / AT Max
Primary Interest:
Beach & Shallow Water Hunting
Wanted to say hi and I enjoy reading all the threads. I am new to the hobby and being only into it for about 4 months I am addicted. My first detector was the At max and that proved to be a mistake for beach hunting in Florida, great in dry sand but bad for wet sand or water. I think the salesman was pushing because he New I was new and he was a garret fanatic. So with my research I recently purchased the Equinox 800 and love it. For beach trip with it and found a diamond ring in about 3 feet of water. Heading back out today!trying load picture if I can figure it out. FE7A93D6-4B3C-4602-AD0A-5C96C81F6B93.webp

Nice find, congratulations! :occasion14:

Nice ring and welcome

Welcome to tnet from Niagara Falls. Congrats on the ring find.

Nice ring! :icon_thumleft: I tried water hunting a couple of times and hated it! Every time a wave would come in my feet would sink 3-4 inches in the sand! Trying to scoop a signal was unreal. Wave after wave would just fill the hole I scooped. Grrrrr Don't know how you guys so it!

Dealers are struggling to sell the AT Max with the equinox on the market . You are far better off with the minelab . I know someone that bought a new AT pro in the same boat as you were .

Welcome Newbie, From California Very nice ring you have there

Welcome and Super find!:hello2:

also welcome to the addiction

Welcome to the hobby and the forum, and congrats on finding the ring and purchasing the 800.

SandDog, the AT Max is a great "turn on and go" detector for many areas, including the dry sand lines of the beach. The 800 is a GREAT detector, and you will enjoy using it along NSB and Cocoa Beach as well. Happy hunting in The City Beautiful
