This was dug along with about 30 religious medallions and around 20 crosses some of the items are silver and some gold. A silver ringing with Mother Marry on it. Some of the items are dated to the 1700.

You found this in a vacant lot? Somebody probably robbed a monastery or church or something. Odd that there would be so many crucifixes in one spot.

Story: Nazis plunder a village in Europe. They round up the villagers, taking their crucifixes and rings and rob the church, stealing the crown. The officer in charge gathers them all together, continuing to fight.
He is killed by Americans, and the collection is captured by an American who smuggles them back to the US. The soldier then buries the loot in his yard, and dies without revealing where it was.
The house is torn down, but the loot remained undisturbed til you found it.

This lot was next to a very old roadway I believe it was left there by a traveling priest and he never returned to get it. Some of these items date to the mid. 1700s

Can you tell us more about the crown please.

It appears to be made of brass with gold overlay. I have not had it checked out by anyone I don't think the stones are real I believe they are glass. It's about 7" tall and 4" wide. Can't tell you more than that. It is kept in a safe and and will belong to my kids one day.

Infant of Prague

I have just barely researched this possibility, but it looks as if "Infant of Progue" items involved a lot of charms and stuff like that. Please check out these comparisons and see what you make of it. Plus, there is tons of IOP information and pictures on the internet to check out.

I'm really not sure if IOP stuff was specifically geared towards children, but it might have been.

Cool find for sure. These Catholic medals are very hard to date because they made millions. I see some 20th century items like the Holy Communion. Some may certainly be older but I looked very quickly.. Did you post the 1700 identified stuff? Look for crucifixes with skulls.

Does it say Sterling? If you post closeup of the mark we may be able to ID it. We can ID rings best by the hallmarks IMO. Is the gold marked?

Looks like a ST. GERARD MAJELLA PRAY FOR US medal with the skull but I cant read it.

In the inside of the ring sterling is stamped on it. There is a M with a cross above it and below the M is 2 hearts above one of the hearts Is a small cross. All of this is circled in stars.

Yes its the Miraculous Medal. Cannot possibly be later than 1830. Can be dated by the stamp sterling as well but I forget when. You can eliminate anything aluminum as being very old. It may be a mixed bag and like I said very nice find.(I came over from the WII forum) I realize you werent asking for ID but you were asking to date the crown. We date the medals, we can probably date the crown,

Here's a ring that is very similar, with the same mark inside. I can't quite make out what yours has on the front or sides. There are some great close ups of this ring on the link.

The one on the link states it is from the 1940s, but doesn't specify who made it or how they came up with that date.

That's very similar but mine has no writing on it other than what's on the inside.

Here's a closer look at the same (or similar link) that Big Cy posted earlier. It has a little more info on the Virgin Mary image and hallmark, but still nothing specific.

I'm beginning to think the M is for Mary or Miraculous/Medal and not a hallmark.
