new to treasure hunting

What do you guys do when someone claims that a treasure has been found or they hint around they found it? Do you still go look for it? Do you chalk it up as a loss? Is there anyway of cutting thru the b.s. and the hearsay?

its usually b.s....I been at this 30 years and cant tell how many stories I have been told...Just smile and say"cool"then go get it yourself.btw...welcome aboard !!

Thanks for the welcome. Its kinda disheartening when you start researching for adventures and people claim that its been found! Never have heard that until I started researching in this forum.
