New treasure hunter in Texas

[ROCK A DOPOLIS]

New treasure hunter stationed at Fort Hood. Just picked up my first detector and was looking over all the laws and regs for detecting in Tx. Is there a place anyone is tracking I can go without permission or with permission? Any advice would help.

Stay off federal land, most other public parks are open for hunting. Coastal areas as well, unless the beach is on private property. All private property should first have owner's permission. Schools and other public lands also need permission. It's a skill you'll have to develop to hunt where you want. Good luck!
