New Year's Day, and my first silver coin.

Pulled my first merc. Yippee!! ;D Haven't added up the clad yet, but I think it is about 4 dollars. The only notches I had on, on my ace 250 were dime, quarter, and one right of pull tab. The ring is .925, and it is really cool. It has a heart that spins. One side is gold (how do I know if this is real) and the other side is a green stone (how do I know if this is real). Just before dusk, I pulled the beast. The cross was at about 2" and rang in at a dime. The back is hollow, and at the bottom, it is stamped "?25" Looks kind of like 925, or 525, but I know it is silver. What are the chances of the stones being real?
Cross weighs 20.6 grams total
ring weighs 3.5
:tongue3: :tongue3: :tongue3: :tongue3:

Hey Brother,

Great silver! I love finding crosses especially if theyre silver or gold! The Ace is a great machine and looks like you got a good spot there. Hope you have a great 09 and God Bless!

Thanks crackbadger, I was wondering if you were going to show up.

A quick check online shows that jewelers don't put diamonds in silver.

Thanks. I like it a lot. It's the only metal detector I've ever had, so I can't really judge it against others. About 90% of my digs have been right around 2". I don't know yet if I am missing the deep stuff or if I have just been lucky. I am starting to want a tesoro or a bigger coil for my 250, but i'm content for now. I really don't know how much better off I would be spending more money on another detector.
I would say, if you have the money to spend, and you're planning on spending a lot of time doing it, then get a tesoro. I don't really know much about them, but they look pretty nice.
One more thing, when I bought mine, I wish I would have gotten a coil cover and a rain guard to keep the dust out. I've got a coil cover now, but still waiting to buy a rain cover. Maybe check on what uses a lot of batteries or a battery charger to. i'm not knocking my ace, but batteries cut into my clad count pretty good.
Hope this helps,

Re: New Year's Day, and my first silver coin.

I say buy Rechargables.. They pay for themselves! Especially the NiMH and LIon's.
Nice Cross! I have seen some of your other posts and each time you are getting more and more!
Great Job.. It's fun to see how we all "hone" our skills!
Great way to start the New Year!
Happy Hunting in '09!
