I hit an old property today with one of my buddies despite the 15 degree temperature. We had to use a pick axe to get through the frost which I was worried about using but we made out alright. We found a couple D buckles and the usual trash but I was pumped when I saw this copper come out of the ground! The counter stamp threw me off at first but soon I realized that I had a counter stamped LC. This is my first counter stamped coin. Any help identifying the stamp would be appreciated. It's in pretty nice shape but has a layer on the top that looks delicate. Should I soak it in oil maybe? Thanks for any input. IMG_4773.webpIMG_4774.webpIMG_4778.webp

Thanks! This was better than working outside in it which is what I'm use to

Nice!! An 1807 DBLC, counter-stamped to boot...that is an excellent save! Congrats, Ddf.

Thanks dirt diggin fool! I am very excited about this one. From the research I've done it seems like it might be hard to ID the counterstamp
