New Year's Eve Road Trip...just not in Louisiana
Like LJ, I also had the day off and took advantage of the one last banking day of 2007 to do a little drive to some banks I haven't visited recently and some I have never visited, but have been meaning to.
Ended up visiting 17 banks total in the greater twin cities area.
Bank #1 ... skunk
Bank #2 ... skunk (cashed in rejects)
Bank #3 <---one of my target banks for the trip.
$252 in halves
1 Franklin (1951-D)
2 - 90% Kennedy (1964-D(2))
2- 40% Kennedy (1967(2))
1 Gold Plated Kennedy (1980-P)
1 Canadian 2-Dollar (1996)
1 Foreign (Mexico, 10 Pesos (2004))
2 Flattened Pennies (Como Zoo, Pearl Harbor)
3 "Good for 1 drink at American Legion post #XX" Tokens
1 Car Wash Token
1 Unknown Token
3 Quarters
2 Dimes
1 nickel
5 pennies
Bank #4
1 - $50 bag of pennies
Bank #5 ... skunk
Bank #6 <--target bank
Said they had $88 in loose halves and then came back and said they were mistaken, they had no halves, but $88 in Ikes.
Turned out to be 87 Ikes and 1 Canadian Dollar.
87 Eisenhower Dollars (1971(2), 1971-D(14), 1972 Variety 1, 1972 Variety 3(5), 1972-D(21), 1974, 1974-D(15), 1976-D Variety 1 (4), 1976 Variety 2 (5), 1976-D Variety 2 (19))
1 Canadian Dollar (1994) <--harder to find variety anyway
Apparently someone had cleaned them out of halves a couple months ago.
Bank #7 ...skunk <---was a target bank as I was supposedly in line to pick up the half dollar bag off the coin machine when it filled up. Well turns out they gave it to someone else who cashed in halves and bought it back when it was close.....
That and the vault teller wasn't there so they couldn't sell bags off the machine today.
Bank #8
1 - $100 box of nickels
$3 in halves ... skunk
Bank #9 <-- Target bank
$240 in halves (1 - 40% Kennedy (1967))
$100 in nickels rolled by the bank
$25 in pennies rolled by the bank
Bank #10
1 - $100 box of nickels
Bank #11 <--- Target Bank
$709.50 in halves (haven't searched it yet, but from a quick glance only minimal stuff in it)
Bank #12
1 half dollar ... skunk
Cashed in some rejects that I had picked up and edge searched in the car.
Bank #13 <-- Target bank
1 - 1943-P War Nickel spotted in the tellers tray
Had a $500 box of halves...did not purchase (all 2000-P)
Bank #14
1 - $100 box of nickels
Bank #15
1 - $200 bag of nickels
3 - $50 bags of pennies
Bank #16 ... skunk
Bank #17
2 - $50 bags of pennies
After all that I now still have some work to do to get my final 2007 numbers.
Here's is what I still have to search toward my 2007 tally.
$709.50 in halves
$600 in nickels
$325 in pennies
might be a couple of days to finish (at least for the pennies)
