I was hunting an older park and dug up this token. It's a subway token from the New York City Transit Authority... I have no idea how it got buried here in the Twin Cities. I guess it goes to show, you never know what you're going to dig up next.

It would be nice to see a picture and get an idea of the year that token was used for. That token changed 3 times as far I as I can remember.

If it's the kind that they did away with here a few years ago, they're actually quite common.

Several years ago, they got rid of the "lowly" subway token since they were expensive to produce and a bit old fashioned. Now, we have something called "Metro Cards".

A bit odd of you finding a NYC subway token there, but, as I said, they are pretty common - unless it's something real old, say 60's or prior.

Nonetheless, still a cool find. Even living near NYC, I don't even see them that much anymore :thumbsup:
