Spent yesterday at some small lakes with beaches as I wanted to practice in the sand for our upcoming trip to Florida. I had no luck at all...these were the cleanest beaches I have seen in my life. I guess I should have been checking them out last summer??? ::) Well today it looked like rain but I got out for about an hour and a half to a local school. It looked like a good spot for me because I'm not too good at digging yet and there was an area with no grass to worry about. Well I could have left the detector home. I found $2.45 in clad and all but 4 coins were on the top of the dirt. I actually found 2 pocket spills within about 5 feet of each other. Looked like 2 kids sat down against a pole to chat and left without their lunch money.

Congratulations on your finds, sounds like a good spot to keep hitting....

Thanks for all of your words of encouragement! Went out in the yard for an hour or so tonight and found a nickel and penney in one hole! I think I'm getting lucky....I'm feeling like I'm going to find a ring when I hit the beaches again.

Welcome & congrats on your finds. I've gotten to the point now that if I don't find any coins on the tot lots, I just turn the kids upside down and shake them to get the coins. :o
Hey, it costs gas to get to those playgrounds. ;D
