Kind of excited right now. Just got back from a short hunt at an old park here in Ohio. Just got my ace 250 Friday and am new at this. My 25 year old son went with me. Anyway, we were hunting around this older park when we hit a quarter signal. Had it set in coin mode and about half way up on sensitivity. I guess we were lucky. Dug down 4 inches and out pops this guys class ring of 1986. After that we got another signal close by. Dug that and out pops a 14K gold ring with a big diamond on top. The ring say 14K THGE ESPD LIND. I am heading out in the morning to get an appraisal. I will post pics as soon as I figure out how too. I'm very sorry as I like to see pics, too. Please bear with me as I will try to figure it out. :icon_sunny:

Well my son figured this out for me. The class ring is from 1986.I have the guys name and I am going to try to reach him. I need help on the gold ring with the letters on the inside. I don't know what they mean except for 12K. I hope he stone is real. It looks to be. I'll keep you posted. Ron

Hey, nice ring finds, CrazyJarHead!! I wish you lots of success with your new machine!!

I think the ring on your right might be gold electroplated (THGE). Never heard of real diamonds being on gold electroplated rings, but you never know. I would let a gemologist/jeweler check it out for you.

Congrats,

Wowzers. From one newb with a new 250 to another ---> WELL DONE BRO!!

Maybe it's time for me to give up on the tot-lots and move to the parks. I'm just not sure my pinpointing is good enough yet to probe grass without looking like I'm trying to de-sod the whole place.... arrrrg >:(

Re: Newbee with ACE 250 hits gold and silver rings 1 foot apart. Updated:found owner

Found the owner of the lost class ring of 86. I will be visiting him tonight. He lives in a small town where my grandmother lives. I called her this morning and she called a friend. He lives just down the street. As far as the place where I found it.... I will post some more pictures. This is a 5 acre playground used by 2 schools which are now gone. The schools were built in the 1870's and tore down in the 80's My Father and mother went there. There should be a lot of things just waiting to be found. There is also a ball field. I'm sorry I posted pics of the clad but didn't mention anything about it. The coin were all 1980's. 1 square nail, a co2 cartridge probably for a pellet gun, bunch of pull tabs, and other misc. clad. This place is going to take a long time to hunt and I did get permission to hunt there by the park maint. guy (who knows my grandmother) That always helps.

Nice finds! But I believe your ring marked ESPD is actually ESPO for ESPO-FLEX Mfg, Inc. -- Providence, RI
Mark: ESPO -- first used in 1951
A mfg of cosmetic jewelry...

I believe you are right. Checked the web site. I just saw the 14k gold and thought I had struck it rich ;D solid Gold would not look the way it does. The stone looks real, but probably isn't. Someone had to tell me :'( I will still have my local jeweler check it out though. The silver ring is genuine, for sure. I'm heading back over to that old school ground later today. I have alot of diggin to do

I can't stand the ESPO rings.....they always make you freak out......I found a honker last year......

but the bright side is there is gold there if it is gold filled, or plated.....you can scrap i'm told...but you got to have a bunch
