Newbie Coinstar Question?

I have never used these due to the premiums attached to using them but what happens to the change that is dumped in them? Is the change taken to the customer service counter and stored until they are picked up? And if they are, can you go ask the customer service person if they have rolls to switch out from that machine??

Coinstar machines would be like any other vending machine in a store. The store has no control of the contents. A third-party vendor maintains and empties the machine. Coins get dumped in a bin to be taken to a coin-rolling service center (Brinks, Loomis, etc.) as needed. Once a pre-set threshold is reached, the machine "phones home" to notify the vendor of needed "service".
