Found 111 clad coins buried in a blue plastic box under a log on the beach in Steveston BC, Canada. Modern coins and mostly pennies but still a thrill digging it up. Cache was found about 10 inches down using my new excaliber 2. It's my first metal detector and I've only had it a couple weeks, so far a 1945 silver dime, 1963 silver quarter and about $20 worth of clad. Looking forward to taking it diving in the tropics.

Thanks, it certainly was. Still puzzled why someone would bury this at the beach but whatever, it made my day. Rain set in soon after the find, need to go back and see if this person buried anything better further along the beach.

Congrats on your fine - you are doing great dirt fishing and wish you many more great finds.

I can see it now, some kid buried his "treasure" thinking no one would find it. You find it and are looking around as you dig to see if anyone notices you are excited about all these gold coins your finding. The beginning of a great story. What a wonderful find, Congrats!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the finds

Yep,, found my first Cache last year. It consisted of 5 pennies, (one was a wheat back). They were buried about 6 inches down in a makeup compact, in front of a big old tree. What a thrill to hear those coins rattle when I shook that compact case.
Great find. The Excalibur is a great machine.

Welcome aboard TNet! Congratz on a really cool find! Hopefully, it's the first of many to come!

Congrats on your cache. :occasion14: I have been lucky enough to dig up 3 caches. My 1st one (151 pennies and 2 nickels) was found with m Treasure Cove TC-1023 in 2014. It was next to a tree at the football field in town. My second one was dug on on old property and it came from where the burn barrel was (I presume) it was a compact with 4 wheat pennies. The 3rd cache was 14 zinc pennies near a tree on an old farm. Caches are fun to dig and feed the fire of the passion for this hobby. I am hoping to find a silver cache someday.

Cool cache find! :occasion14:

Hey man that's way better than pull tabs!
Cool find must have been fun to dig up.
Cheers!

Some homeless dude is going to get mad somebody robbed his bank and have to start panhandling all over again. I'd have at least left an IOU without my name on it.
Great Find! Now you can trade it for paper money.

Cooooooool man!

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement, been a fun start to this hobby, looking forward to meeting up with others on a detecting trip sometime this year. May your shovels always dig true!

Congrats on all your finds, I love my Excalibur II it is a great machine.
