New to metal detecting .I may have jumped in over my head with my choice of detectors but I got a good deal on a minelab explorer se . anyone familiar with it any help would be appreciated I live in alexandria la if anybody close wants to make a hunt

Hello Woodrat and Welcome,

You found a very nice detector. Read the manual many times and play around with the menu and functions until you fully understand there uses and interactions with each other. You can also watch “You Tube” videos of live hunts using the machine. Lastly, build a test bed in your yard as this will help you learn the machine and all of its settings.
