Looks like either a clock pendulum weight or a scale weight.

Is that an eye that something hooks through? ? It looks brass. Maybe a counterweight that hangs on a swing arm as in a pendulum type clock. Yep, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. lol
 

Thank you guys and or gals. My first thought was a counter weight to some sort of clock. It is heavy for such a little thing of majig. Thanks for the welcome. I love this hobby and I'm hooked big time.

Congrats and welcome to the hobby. I have no idea but the weight sounds good and with that suggestion it does appear to be along those lines.
