Hello, My name is Lynn, I am new to M.D.'ing and to this site. I am from Oak Lawn Illinois and looking to learn from and meet other M.D.'rs from Illinois. "Oz" introduced me to this forum I am looking fwd. to checking it out and meeting new friends and finding places to hunt.
I am learning, still digging junk and trenches, advanced from all iron and shallow graves though.

Welcome to TNet. Shallow graves had me rolling on the floor. LMAO!!! If you would have seen me today you would have thought I was digging for Hoffa. What kinda detector you lugging around? SMAN...

Welcome to Tnet Lynn. I think we have all spent time in the "Trenches".. Think you will meet a lot of great folks on this forum. Have fun and HH.

Welcome to t-net aunt . one of the best sites on the net. there's a whole lotta info to be learned in here, and a whole lotta very experienced people in here. Shallow Graves? ;D. Never done that before, but have had coins run from me, causing strange looking shallow tunnels, that looked like a mole had been looking for grubs ;D. What kind of treasure finder are you lugging around? Anyways, Welcome to T-Net.......NGE

Thank You for the warm welcome and boy do I need warm. LOL I am using or trying to use a garret Ace 250 searching for a pin pointer now. I need all the help I can get. I bought a cheapo one and it doesn't like wet, cold ground. Can't blame it though I hate it also.

Welcome aboard!!!

Semper Fi! TreasureFiend. Thank you for your service. I am a mom of a Marine and a soon to be recruit.

Welcome Aboard from the lower end of Illinois.

The ace is a dang good starter machine. That is what got me rehooked on MDing. I found enough clad with it to pay for it the first year or so. When GOIO (fellow tnetter) and I first started hunting together, I had the ace and he had a Minelab SE. I would smoke him everytime. LOL. That was until he learned the SE and then well the rest is history. Heheh. SMAN...

Welcome to T-Net, Lynn! This is the place to be for sure.

I'm looking forward to seeing your future finds!

Good Luck!

Welcome to TreasureNet Lynn!

My brother has the ACE 250 and is looking for the "perfect" pinpointer as well. I think Garrett's new ProPointer is a good one, but for a little bit more you could get a Sunray inline probe or a PistolProbe that goes deeper. The Sunray wouldn't be practical to use in non-motion mode (or pinpoint mode on the ACE) because you'd have to hold the pinpoint button down... the ProPointer and the PistolProbe work in non-motion VCO mode just like the ACE's pinpoint mode. The Sunray will get about 3" and the PistolProbe will do 4-6". They are both about the same price, Sunray a little bit more I think. Sunray will add to your swing weight because it's on the detector, a handheld pinpointer will basically add to your battery cost. Go to your local dealer and try these out before you buy them :)
