Hi, I know nothing about coin roll hunting but thought I'd start by asking, when I buy rolls of coins at banks, how would I know if the rolls are one's that someone has already gone through and sold to the bank, or on the other hand some rolls that someone has not gone through and just wants to cash them in? I guess it would help to know the tellers personally I would imagine.

You never really know. If you find silver in them then that means it was probably somebody just turning in their saved up change. You can get boxes of any denomination from a bank if you are afraid of getting already searched rolls

How are the boxes different from the rolls?

They re rolls in a sealed box. The coins from the boxes comes from all over, searched and in searched coins all in the mix.

ahhh I see

I'm kinda new too...but my limited experience shows me that high volume of boxes generally produce at least something. I've never found anything like some of the scores recently posted. Biggest "teller" score to date is 14 silver halves with 2 90%ers in the mix. Can be fun. Can be tiresome. I've personally committed to a year before I decide to continue or hang it up. So far, the time investment isn't worth the return. It is a shot in the arm when you see posts with photos of roll after roll of silver!

CRH Rule #3 - Always buy them all.
