Well Jeff, I would but moved from Rock Springs last year! I KNOW there has to be some great things to be found in that area!! Heres a hot tip from a older noob than you, look into a aftermarket coil,NELs, for you machine after you use it for a few months.

Get a GOOD digger! The Whites is nice for the $$, point is a pain to really ecavate a hole! But cuts in GREAT.
Im just wearing the paint off my Predator digger, sucks in dry hardpack, but its a dirt mover!!

Its a great hobby!!

Thanks all! Steve, I bought this at Ace Hardware for around $12.00. It seems very sturdy and has the serrated edge.

Don't get discouraged, go slow and learn the machine. Get on some old private property up there and get some goodies.
