Newbie Quesion?

Hi everyone,
I have always wanted to detect but have not had the time. Now my 9 year old son wants to start and since I am new I was wondering what type of detector to buy. I do not want to pay too much (under 200$), but I do not want a cheap one.
Any recomendations would be great.

I have a Bounty hunter tracker 4 and im doing good with it, and iv heard that a popular detector on the forums is the ace 250.

You can't go wrong with the Garrett ace 250. I bought mine from ?Kellyco. You get extras with it from them

From all the ACE250 user's on the forum and everything else I've read on the internet, the Ace250 is the best detector in your price range. I've seen them as low as $199 with free shipping and accessories. Haven't heard or read anything negative other than it doesn't work well in the wet sand at the ocean, but does well in the dry sand.

Surfrat is exactly right! Unless you want to hunt the wet sand you can't go wrong with the Garrett ACE 250! Good Hunting! omnicognic 8)
