Greetings everyone! :)

Just wanted to say what a cool sight! A friend that hangs out on the detector forums recommended it.

Hope to do a little contributing around here once I learn the ropes.
I'll make an attempt at posting an old find of mine.

It's an Ohio Thebes point made of Upper Mercer flint from the Coshocton quarries.
It measures 3 and 1/4 inches and was found in Franklin Co. OH.
Ohio Thebes points have an estimated date of 5,000 to 6,000 B.C.
These points are not a common type in Ohio.

Welcome to the forum. We welcome all questions and none are dumb. Course you might get dumb answers...... ;D

Welcome Jon!
That's a super looking Thebes you have there. I only have one point from Ohio and it looks like a Lost Lake and some say it's a Notched base Dovetail. Lets see some more of your collection!

That's an excellent Notched Base point badandy. I see it is made of Coshocton flint (Upper Mercer) which is often seen for the type.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

John
