Hello to all,

I just recently found this part a T-net and would like to share with you some of my finds over the years. I have certainly enjoyed the knowledgeable posts of many of you.

I think that I'll only post a couple pictures at a time so I don't overload the system. Since I'm not too good at typology, I'll probably have some questions about a couple of the points that most interest me.

I've found it interesting that some people (Dorkfish or Cannonman...maybe both) are looking forward to finding a quartz point. You'll see that the majority of my finds are made of some type of quartz. I have always envied you guys that find the flint type points. They are truly works of art and I congratulate you for your awesome points. I have a strong feeling that Ms. Molly will recognize some of my points since it sounds like you find a number of quartz pieces.

I surely don't have the collections that some of you have on here, but each and every one of my finds is a gem in my book. If any of you see anything interesting that I have, please let me know. I would be more than happy to take better or close ups at your request. I also have a whatzit that some of you may find interesting that I'll have to get some pictures of and post in a few days.

Both of these pictures are of points found in central AL. I am especially interested in what type the two points in the middle with the wide bases are (2nd picture).

I'd also like to sincerely thank every one of you for sharing your pictures and your wealth of knowledge. You have made for many hours of enjoyable reading and drooling. ;D

Very nice collection. Welcome to the site. I live in Ohio and have never found a quartz point either. Each region has its own material which is just one aspect of this cool hobby., Unitas

Nice points!!! Quartz points turn up out west from time to time. Quartzite is fairly common out here too.

Welcome PF, Nice Quartz collection, I recognise a few Morrow Mts & Savanah Rivers.
It's great to have you onboard, great place for education. ::)

Molly. :)

Welcome! Nice to see the quartz points you have there!

Can't wait to see that whatzit!

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. This site has inspired me to get back out and do some more hunting. I'll post some more finds here soon.

Thanks Dreamcatcher. I went back to look at the pictures of Baker's Creek. I first ruled them out because the book that I had showed the BC points as being longer and narrower than the ones I had. Time to get some more books. Thanks again DC. Great people and site y'all have here.

Welcome aboard and I think that is a very nice collection you have going on there!
