Treated myself to a Garrett Ace 350 for christmas, have not got it yet, and I allready ordered some accessories, including a Garrett ProPointer. Been a bottle collector for 25 years, this is my first detector, been watching their videos over and over. Hope I made a good choice, open for tips/help, sad part, we just got a foot of snow and its 9 degrees here in Mich. I think I have till spring to figure it out

Hey Copper...If you are gonna be stuck in the snow for a bit, Best thing to do is look on Youtube for people using that machine, and Maybe find time to go plant some coins in the yard, I did that when I got my Ace250, to see how things read after being in the ground for a few days...Oh course make a marker for where you bury them...I used Paint stir sticks.
Just an idea

Welcome to TNET and Good luck out there, Hope the snow melts soon

Now is the time to do research on areas to hunt and get permission so when spring comes you are ready to go. Congrats on your purchase of the Ace 350. The Pro pointer is a must and will save you so much recovery time. Good luck and happy hunting!

Good luck with gwtting research also make sure. To ask around for permission.....doesn't the ace 350 come with a pinpointer

Just like the 250, it has a pinpointer built into the machine. The Pro-pointer isn't bad, but I can't see spending money on something already built in and may, may I mind you, shave a few seconds/minutes off a recovery. I'll save my money and use those few minutes I didn't save to enjoy the outdoors :laughing7:

Thanks guys' been watching every video from Garrett I can find, plus hours of others. Living at the southern end of Lake Huron, there lots of beaches and parks, and I all ready have some prime old homestead's owned by friends to hunt. When I told friends that do this this machine had pin point on it, they said get a pin pointer, you wont be dissapointed. I think i am ready to do this................oh yea, there is 14 inches of snow that has to melt

Congrats on your purchases! You'll definitely enjoy them. You'll be glad you got the pro pointer, too, because I know I wouldn't want to waste 5-10 minutes looking for a small object in a whole. And it also makes your recovery area neater as you won't have to widen the hole near as much by guessing.

Once again, congrats!

A very wise decision you made in buying a pro-pointer with your new machine. This is often over looked by those new to the hobby (I did this myself) and will help you greatly in recovering targets quickly, especially targets that are left in the side of a hole you just dug. I could not imagine hunting without one.

Well everything is here, Garrett Ace 350, headphones, Coil cover, enviromental dust cover, Garrett Pro-Pointer, Lesche digging tool, Finds bag, extra batteries.................have I forgot anything? Watched Garrett instructional videos about 27 times, on line, then watched it again, when it came. Have spent hours watching U-tube videos(recently retired). Done extensive bench testing. Somebody help me, I am hooked, and havent even dug a hole yet! O yea I am in Mich. 1 foot of snow, and 12 degrees. This is going to be a very long winter

Believe me the pro pointer is worth every cent and makes your recover time in seconds rather than going through every bit of soil you dug. The pin pointer on the 250, 350 or pro narrows your search are but the pro pointer pin points your find
