Newbies from Lackawanna County

Hello all, I joined this site to see if I can get some help from some expierienced hunters and panners. A bunch of years ago I started metal detecting with my stepfather and last year my son became old enough to take out. So I purchased a middle of the line detector and we have been finding somethings, but nothing super great. At the same time my son who is ten fell in love with the show gold rush. You can obviously see where this is going lol. So for christmas this year he will be receiving a nice prospecting kit with pans, mini sluice, and some smaller items. I have been an outdoor person all my life , and my son well until recently has not been. So being that he wants to go out and detect and now prospect. I was wondering if anyone could help me with some decent areas to detect or pan for gold in or around northern Lackawanna county. We are about 20 minutes north of scranton but any place within 50 - 75 miles I am willing to go. Being that he is showing the interest I would like to see his face light up over something we find rather than the well junk we have been finding.
