My son and I got out in my neighbor's yard after work yesterday. Found several pennies including four wheats and a couple of really annoying little aluminum 10 cent Uncle Sam Play Money pieces that were about 6 inches deep and looked just like half-dimes when they came out of the ground. Talk about a let down! Then this big copper fell out of the bottom of the plug and gave me a start, but when I saw the wreath, I knew it wasn't American and stuck it in my apron. After cleaning it and looking it up, I found that it's a bronze Japanese coin produced from 1898-1902 and again from 1913-1915. Reasonably old for around here so, not too bad after all.
