I found this one today while sluicing for gold. It's a keeper! It has a beautiful rainbow effect at different angles.





...and here is a handful I found in a different hole a few days ago.

As soon as I can afford it, I certainly will. I have some other cuts I'm eager for first....a 23 ct. star Ruby!

Thanks! The second set of photos did come out a little better. Trying to hold an L.E.D. flashlight in one hand while holding the loupe against the lens of the camera in the other: not fun!

Man I wish I knew what I was looking at when it comes to gems like this...I don't even want to think about how many I have stepped over or just written off as quartz haha. Excellent finds!
