Detector(s) used
bounty hunter
This is the first find I've made that seemed worthy of a post. I went to visit family today and my Dad and I decided to take my metal detector down to the park for a little while and see if we could find a coin or two. It started off a little slow with a penny ,then a quarter. We then got another good tone and dug a quarter and felt pretty good when I saw a 2nd quarter in the hole.We ran the detector over the hole again before filling it and still had a good tone, well we ended up pulling 16 quarters out of that hole. They were about 3 to 4 inches deep and didn't appear to have been in a coin wrapper so not sure how they came to be there. We went on to dig another penny and 3 quarters ( 2 of them in the same hole),by far the best day I've ever had metal detecting.Nothing very old, the oldest coin was a 1976, but still a good day and the best part was I got to spend some time with Dad enjoying a great hobby.

You did very good there.

Love it when you only have to dig one hole. Long live pocket spills

That is a 'cache of coins', a little treasure trove on its own.

Well found and Welcome to treasurenet

Is it my eyesight :tongue3: or do some of the coins show signs of being in a fire?

Cheers, Mike

Thanks for the kind remarks, it was a fun day and did seem like a bit of treasure rodgerdodger and capndan151.I don't think they had been in a fire Mike, at least not that I could tell.

Great hunt and quality time with Dad. It don't get any better!
