Hi all, been out a few hours with my buddy and went to an old field near my wood cabin and had a few finds. A small buckle, a chisel, a cartridge and the usual rosehead nails with one that came out real neat. That nail was forged harder or had steel in it, don't know why it came out that nice, but it's old. The buckle was a hard find, since it was laying with iron but still had a strange sound different from iron and showed around 56 on my Delta. The cartridge looks old, I never saw this type before. After a few hours, went back to camp but did a stop to a creek and found what I think is a old sharpening stone, but it's missing a piece.
Of course, there was the usual junk pile, I spare you the photo.

Your cartridge casing was made in 1986 according to the "86" marking. Has the NATO circle with cross. The maker is IVI = Industries Valcartier Inc., made in Canada. Can't tell the length but likely 7.62 x 51 NATO caliber.

Those old nails, have something alloyed in with them making them last so well, I don't know what, but it is definitely something.
The big "spike" thing is cool, with the notches cut in it to help keep it from backing out I assume.

Some interesting stuff there!
