I went to a place I haven't been lately, and re-secured the permission to dig. It was just about a four hour hunt and I did ok.

So...I got three nails from a ration can case, I like the little ones. Three poncho grommets, one with a nail still in it. A nice base to a Williams cleaner bullet, perfect bone button, modern small caliber bullet, coat eagle button, a couple pieces of glass, a percussion cap, two small pieces of camp lead and a melted minie ball. Lots of fun. Also got a big section of a cartridge box's tin liner. It has to be cleaned up. The little buckle has a patent 1855 date on it.

sweet buckle! congrats!

Thanks. Once I clean the one side better I will be able to read the manufacturer.

Nice variety of CW relics!

Nice variety of finds, well done Smokey.

Thanks. This time I'm going to save the cartridge box tin. It's quite the process to clean it then give it a hot wax submersion bath to preserve it.
