No I did not clean it first and stick it back in the dirt. What you see is the way it happened. It was 4.5 inches deep.

Where did you find it at? A park, behind an old house, battlefield, etc..

i think that is a 3 cent silver, pretty rare, my father in law found a few a couple of years ago around and old house seat. Nice find!!!
