Not too many notable finds with the detector lately but did stumble across this beauty of a point while I was out swinging yesterday. I think it's a Kirk or Savannah River. Found along a river bed in coastal, SC. I've found a dozen or so points like this made from coastal plains chert but none with the colors this one has. Whoever made it approx 5000 yrs ago was definitely going for both aesthetic as well as functional appeal. I very rarely see chert points with colors like this in South Carolina. Enjoy the pics and happy hunting!

Yup! That's a pretty one! It seems so broad. What is the style or from what period?

Borderline Abbey. Nice point regardless.

Oh yeah, that is certainly an attention getter.
Congrats on a sweet find.

That is the coolest looking arrowhead I have ever seen That would be great in a display case Sweet Thanks for sharing that!!!

Looks like a Stanly Stemmed (6000bc-5000bc) Im not an expert however. Nice find!

Very cool point, I have to try a spot I keep talking about, sifting in the water!
