Hello SE Michigan here.

Was a very nice day for hunting, perfect weather. Found a sharp little knife, lucky I didn't cut myself

digging it out. Also found a 1940 wheatie with what I think is a freemason stamp.

Nice finds! yea that looks like the freemason stamp to me as well. My hunting partner actually just dug a freemason pin a couple days ago. sweet finds! keep it up

Hello, BandB1,

That is a pretty nice collection of finds there. I like the unusual looking knife. You are right about the penny
having a masonic emblem. When a guy is first joining the masons, some of the guys will give him a penny. it is a symbolic gesture to start his first degree in membership. Some of the penneys have the mason's stamp on it. Other's will have
a very small hole drilled through the top of the penny. They are usually passed around and change hands several times.
I have a couple of them now which I which I will be giving out shortly.
