Went out in the fog to an old elementary school. It hasn’t had students in it for over 20 years but it is still used for meetings and such. I have tried here several times over the years with not great results, but I thought I would give it a go and hope for the best. It started out really slow and for a while I only had 3 pennies and junk and thought it might be one of those days.
I kept going and things got better. I ended up with 59 coins, value of $3.56, including an Anthony dollar, a 1956D wheat penny, and a nice little Uncas Sterling knot ring as well as the usual can slaw, tabs, caps and junk.
I start my year on the first of May and since then I have found 2 Eisenhower dollars, 2 Sacajawea dollars, 3 presidential dollars and now a Susan B Anthony. So 8 dollar coins so far and 5 more months to go in my Detecting year. So far so good. Now I need to find a silver dollar, still on the bucket list.
I also found what I thought at first was an old coat hook from the school. After I got home and looked at it closer I realized it is not a coat hook, but is probably a fancy reins guide. Looking closely you can see a groove worn in the bottom from the reins. I don’t know for sure so if anybody can verify my suspicion I would greatly appreciate it.
Another good day with the CZ 21. Thanks for looking and may your coil lead you to good things.
