So often they miss the mark these thifty store pricing people do. Found on the shelf of the GW and it pinged like silver, flexed like silver, smelled like silver and oxidized like silver. Took a little looking, but there be the identifier marks concealed under blackened oxidation on the very outer parameter bottom YES I Say it be treasure. Looks to be a handwrought hammered out piece from Peru with the name of WELSON and little possible Peruvian purity touch mark between 900. It was priced cheap at below 4 bucks.

Great pic, Tam!

That is a good find especially from a GW...
It really is, as GW is like 95% of the time a waist, but it's near by and I always have a look as things come and go pretty much by the minute in there. Wasn't long ago I found some 12" tall Birmingham marked weighted candlesticks that were still on the cart waiting to be put on a shelf. I got them looking all nice and pretty for maybe the Christmas holiday table setting.

Nice chunky piece of silver

Awesome score!!!!

Nice chunky piece of silver
That it is. Made of a thick hand hammered out sheet of coin grade silver. I did some beautifulcation work all by hand this weekend sitting in my easy chair, as began to start watching the History Channels Viking saga from the beginning of season one on Peacock. It was a lot of light rubbing and buffing to get this piece looking beautiful again.
