nice red jasper chopper

[unclemac]

fresh from my cousins place in NW Nevada...really nice red jasper chopper or primitive knife. Jasper is littered all over the place like pull rings on beer cans.

That is a good find and that color is outstanding.

On my phone, looks a little petrified woodish... But it's nice stuff! If you get some sizable, clean and solid pieces, let me know! I'm a long time knapper... Take care and good luck next time!

nice color.

Would love to find some points out of that, very nice color.

in this area all the points are either red, brown, or yellow jasper...a little obsidian, pink or white agate/quartz, or a sort of yellowish semi-siliceous stone. some basalt too. You can literally send junior out to fetch you a rock to work and he will bring you a fist size chunk of what have you within a few minutes.
