I don't do a lot of posting, but visit TreasureNet almost daily to check the Civil War related topics mainly. I also check in on this Forum often. I hope I can post a picture...... and hope it's decent. I took it with my cell phone and sent it to my email account. This was found in the early 80's on a Nodena Phase site in northeast Arkansas. It measures right at 11 1/2 inches long and is just over 5 inches wide at its widest. Am I correct in calling it a spade? Thanks for looking!

Yes that's the right term, and it's a very nice example. Great find.

Very nice. Was it dug or a surface find?

SouthArk that is a very nice spade great piece.

Thanks folks...... Americus, it was a surface find...... about half of it was sticking out of the ground, where a tractor had pulled it up cultivating a soybean field. They were still planting the beans in rows back then.... before they started drilling them in the fields. The same site produced 100's of Nodena ( Willow Leaf) points.

That is as nice as they come. Thank you for taking the time to share
