1957D (2) [wheat total - 2884]

Despite years of penny searching some dates/mintmarks have eluded discovery. The 1936S, apart from being my first pre-1940 of the year, was one of those. So it was a good day.

Cool beans Immy on the 1936S wheatie! Are you searching the nickles and pennies from the casinos or from banks. I read your story about the woman at the casino feeding the slot machines with her grandfathers pennies. At least you got one bucket of them. You should have asked her which machines she played and them played all of them and put in large bills and cashed out. Maybe you could have found more of them.

Pennyworth, I'm doing this strickly from my favorite casino but from the success Snee had at banks recently I may have to give that a shot too.

Regarding that girl and her grandpa's coins, I thought about asking her which machines she had already played but back then they weren't adapted to take bills yet. I'd have to play it, then hope to win something so I could cash out. I was so jazzed about the bucket I did get I just high-tailed it home! Over the next few weeks I did find a stray teen now and then, including another 09-VDB. I knew that was part of her hoard.

Snee, when I mentioned not finding a 36-S I meant from roll/casino searching. I have a complete Lincoln set that I've put together over the years. My roll searching "no-show" list is mostly the toughies (mintmarked teens, 20s and some 30s). I don't count April's grandpa's coins since that was pretty much a purchase.
