Only 1942-45 are silver. Only some 1942 are silver. The way to tell is by the mintmark being on top of the Monticello. It is silver then. Pre-1960 nickels can be sold on eBay for a profit also. 1938-D, 1938-S, 1939-D, and 1950-D are key dates.
