Almost as soon as thy started..1942-1945 WW2.

I just found my very first none coinstore purchuse war nickel. I was checking my till at work, being a cashier and found a dark coin. A beautiful to me patina, I looked at the date on the coin and gave a whoop of joy! It was a 1945-S war nickel. I couldn't believe that that gorgeous coin had been in my till all day, while another cashier had been working it and I was the lucky one to get it. I really really wish I had a camera to show you all.It's not proof or anything but you know, I prefer the coins that are battered, that show some personality. I know that is humanizing a piece of metal but that's just what I think.
