Are coins graded by NNC pretty accurate? Pardon the question if it is dumb but I am new to this.
Thanks

NNC is not considered to be one of the respected grading services. I would not trust their grading.

PCGS is the best, most trusted grading company. A close second is NGC. ANACS is not considered as reputable as either of the top two, but is still pretty good.

PCGS NGC ANACS & ICG are the big four, I bought a coin from a second level grading company just to see what it looked like. It was graded MS65 I know that simply because each person has there own definition of how a coin is graded that there will always be some difference. The coin I bought I would say was more like a MS 60 to MS62.

Another thing to think about is that when a coin is up for auction it might be graded MS 60 if it does not sell the next time it comes up for auction it might be graded MS62 & this evens happens with the big boys. I think grading is over rated, a coin that has high luster & a few minor coin dings is just as impressive as one that is rated proof. I just don't see the huge dollar difference in the two. Hair lines are often used to grade but what if it was a weak strike then the hair lines would not be as defined.
