Could it be a decorative corner for a book cover? HH

I thought it is a broche...but if it is light weight must be from aluminium so its not.

it looked like a wooden button in one of the clips. It fell out and could not locate it.

I too think it is an antique book cover corner. The motif is called a carved cockle or scallop shell which was very popular during the Colonial era. Neat find :) Breezie

If it's the right size it might be a Boy Scout neckerchief slide. They wrere made in various styles.

I too was in the Boy Scouts and i was thinking it might be the hankercheif tie thing. On the other hand it's just the size of a quarter, so it's a bit on the small side for that. Like Breezy said, maybe a decorative book corner piece. Still have no right answer.

my first thought was a decorative corner piece on a book but it seems all the holding points would face one way if it were that.
