It reminds me of the brass slide that my grandfather put on his belt. He then attached a clip to in to clip his car keys on. I will see if I can find a pic of what I am talking about.

Turtlefoot13 has got it...... well close.
We had one of those on our Boy Scouts pants belt that we tucked the excess tongue into to keep it nice and neat.

Could be any of the above but we find a similar one that was a slack tightner for a two piece buckle.They had a small peice of wire attached that would go through the belt.I will post a pic of the type I am talking about tonight. :thumbsup:

Gara,these are the types we commonly encounter.The ones like yours are often found with this buckle
