kinda resembles the thing that ribbons are attached to when they pin a medal on your chest.

Re: no idea...

Cover for the mail slot on one of those old rectangular type mailboxes. Never mind, doesn't appear to be wide enough. Looking at all those keys, could have been a cover for the slot in a key drop box. Did you find it near an old motel or some place like that?

Looks to small for that.

Yes I edited my reply after noticing that. I still think it is a slot cover of some type. Maybe a key drop box slot cover.

I'm probably off my rocker :laughing9:
But that metal looks like it has that overheated look? Coupled with the "vents", is it remotely possible that this is a very small old style pocket warmer? ???

I have no idea what this is, but I'm looking at the way it is made, the designs/holes patterns looks to be decorative, the two wire pieces are in line with the "holes" on the opposite side, so I think that this item may have been a link of the same type pieces to form a chain or belt, the wire pieces would be inserted into the holes of another piece and so on to make a chain or belt? :dontknow:

I dont remember what they are called but it could be part of one of those perfume scent powder holders that people wore to cover up body odors? People didnt bath everyday like we do now.

Think you mean "Pomander"?...and was my exact thoughts too.Either that or an early "toilet bloo" for smelly toilets lol.
