what size is it? It looks like a type of mine car coupling, but those wouldn't be brass. Size maters in order to get some ideas on what it could be.

Its about 1 inch wide and 2 inches long.

No clue, other then maybe some kind of electrical contact. ???

the fact that its brass tells me it maybe gas related
broken shut off wrench?
