I bought my homestead 2 years ago. It is in the Pennsylvania Wilds and the house was built in 1905.
Today I started cleaning the loft in the barn. Lots of of old rotting wood, cardboard boxes, holiday decorations, etc. All of it will go to the burn pile.
Then I spotted this in a broken piece of wood that obviously was once part of a door.
It is a brass mortice lock and plates. Probably the original house lock.
I cut it out with my circular saw and will definitely be looking for a skeleton key.

Congrats on the historic save, what a great display piece from a tile when things were classy
 

That is a nice find ATW. I'm sure it will display nicely somewhere in your home.
