What ?! no treasure?

I was detecting So. Baltimore on Thursday AM and had a two interesting people encounters. The first was a middle-aged local who was curious if I was having any luck, and asked if I'd ever found anything valuable. I explained that finding my wife's gold college ring was the best so far and he seemed a little deflated that I hadn't found any whopping treasure. The second, and unsuspected encounter, was a little girl, maybe six who was out walking with her Dad and sister; she came over to ask if I wanted to see a magic trick. She did some really cool things with a coloring book she had, making drawings go from black and white to color and then disappear altogether, obviously had been practicing and did a convincing job.

Well, I did not find treasure in the park or, magically pull Barber quarters out of the ground, but the finds were at least interesting and some will make you scratch your head as to what they are or when they were made. Thanks for looking and Happy Hunting.

Well you have silver with the St. Christopher.

Don't know if that qualifies as treasure, but that's a nice mixed bag of finds, and definitely a good day!

Nice assortment of finds and you got a free magic show..

Whattya mean no treasure?

Looks like some fantastic finds to me...

Great hunt and a nice story.

Love the dog tag, and the token to the right of it is prolly something like a lumber token. Great finds!

I think you had the people experience & made some real nice finds.

those are great finds and I'd be happy with any of them. I like the dog tag and the WW2 Victory ring with the V for victory underlined by morse code

I to think that is a very good hunting... I like the little lead toy dodge.. I dig a lot of those St. Christopher's, just like yours in the water, they can be anything from pot metal, sterling, copper, and brass. Yet to find a gold one..

And a cool ID on the Victory ring with morse code...Thanks Jewelery Guy...

Very nice hunt with interesting finds. Congratulations.

treasure is in the eye of the beholder and I see lots of treasure. Congrats!

I'd love to finds all those digs in one day. Congrats on the treasure.

Thank you all for your posts, help with the ring ID, and sharing your perspectives on 'treasure'. Really appreciate this community. Will keep the posts coming as I have time to get out and hunt. Less than two months now before we lose the city parks for the summer months.

No treasure? As far as coins go, anything from wheatie on back is treasure to me and you got 5 wheat, a war nickel AND an Indian. As for non coin treasure, anything vintage with some history(which is everything vintage) is treasure to me. Congrats on the great digs!

I'd take a day like yours any time:thumbsup: nice finds! :occasion14:

Explain? Similar to the State Parks I guess? Gunpowder we cannot hunt after memorial day then the big line on labor day all is go again.

Pretty much as you described, OBN; permits issued by Balto. City Rec. and Parks, grant us 10 months to detect, July and August are no-detecting months. There's pretty much no way to dig a plug during that summer period and not end up killing the turf. Not sure if that's what's behind the regulation, but, it makes sense.

Great story, and awesome finds! The dog tag alone would have made my day.
