Do you guys dig non-repeatable targets? I have the xterra 70 and I often get a strong signal that jumps around. I have read that some of you don't dig these cause they are mostly oddly shaped iron (or other metals). I also noticed that some targets change numbers based on the direction of swing over it. I have been digging some of these to better learn my machine and there has been nothing worth digging yet. What do yall do with these?

it depends. if its deep and has a hint of that high pitched silver tone we all love so much in it, i will dig. deepies get kind of a warblie tone to them. try it in an air test and hold the silver far enough so that the machine is struggling to pick it up. thats the sound a real deep silver will make.also, make note of the way the target pinpoints. it should be nice and tight (although faint). i dont look at the screen at all. too unreliable. if its a shallow target and jumping like that i usually dont dig.

It is hard to ignore the non repeatable signals, but if you don't ignore some or most, you may as well be using a PI. Time spend playing with these silly sounds is time not being used for swinging on the good targets.
