Nor-Easter hits the Jersey Shore 5/12/08

Just saw the news here in Philly about the nor'easter and sure wish I could take off work and hit the beaches tomorrow but I can't.

I went yesterday in the wet and dry sand at Pt. Pleasant. I was there almost all day and found $1.03
It was bad, they lost a lot of sand. There is half what there was. Also there is a big gulley right down the middle of the beach. Maybe I was to late, but I went 45 minutes before getting any signals at all! Many of the beaches they are in the process of covering everthing with dirt by loaders and dozers to get ready for the season. A lot of sand on the boards. Also they are working on Rt 88 and Rt. 70 I got in three jam ups going and one returning. Got a nice burn too! All in all not a great day. Would someone tell me where I am going wrong. Everybody says to go after a storm. Well with one exception, I have no luck after storms.

I still couldn't make it to the beach for the holiday weekend but the kids did and they took the detector with them and here are this mornings meager finds. They had fun
