Norfolk & Western plate, Hindu Silver bracelet & Trifari.

My wife picked these up at the same thrift store that I got the Boris Gordon Painting. The plate is marked Norfolk & Western on the back. t was 50 cents. The gold tone bracelet is Trifari and was $1. The Hindu bracelet has 6 different raised decorated panels, looks like silver but is unmarked. It is very nicely made and is tapered to fit the arm. It was $1. She has found 2 like it online that claim to be tested but unmarked sterling. I think that I won the find of the day but not sure.

Looks like sterling to me! I was reserching Indian silver recently and they rarely marked their pieces, they used a system called 'Tola' so if you see a 'T' stamp on Indian silver followed by a number that number is the percentage of silver in the object e.g. 'T100'= 100%. I was surprised to find out how often Indian silversmiths used 100% silver in their craft. They did produce alot of sterling as well during British rule which your piece is likely from. The marking of silver was not required and there was no set national standard for the vast majority of India's history or for all of its inner territories up until British Rule, but even after that it was still uncommon for pieces to be marked. Yours looks like a quality piece and for pocket change a great deal!
